Welburn Hall sits peacefully in 12 acres of wooded grounds in a rural location, just off the A170, 2 miles from the market town of Kirkbymoorside.

The old hall  - or 'The house' is mainly used as residential accomodation for the pupils who board.  Bedrooms are spacious and comfortable.  There are also lounges and a games room, and catering and dining rooms.

The House also accommodates administration offices, including visitor reception.

There is separate neighbouring accommodation for the older pupils in the Independence Unit nearby.

There is plenty of space for outdoor activities, including archery, tennis, football, orienteering, walking, cycling, camping, games or simply enjoying the beautiful natural setting.

All buildings, facilities and accommodation has been appropriately adapted to meet the needs of pupils with a wide range of special needs.

The  Hodge Beck winds through the eastern side of the grounds and water is pumped from the beck to maintain the level of the lake, which is an enlarged version of the medieval fish pond constructed when the Hall was a grange of Rievaulx Abbey.
