Timings
Children are encouraged to be at school no earlier than 8.20 in the morning; before this time staff are not available. At 8.20, duty staff go to the main playground. Football is not allowed at this time.
School starts at 8.30 a.m.
Children should be ready on the playground to go into their classes as soon as the bell goes. We do ‘tolerate’ children being a few minutes late, although duty staff will usually ask a child why they are late: if this persists over a number of days without good reason, sanctions may be imposed—a break may be taken away, for instance.

Lessons start at 8.40—this is prompt, and early—children really do learn best in the morning! 10.15 to 10.30—morning break 12.00 to 1.00—lunch time 1.00 to 1.20 approx. Assembly (not Friday) 1.20 to 3.15—afternoon session |
There is no time assigned to afternoon break—classes may take a break when it suits them, or indeed continue with their learning. This has been done in response to many requests from the children, who do not like to have a short afternoons—afternoons are for topic activities, which includes art / design projects etc!
Assembly on Friday is at 8.45.This is because Friday assembly is usually led by a class, and this timing enables parents who have dropped their children off at school at 8.30 the opportunity to wait in school for the start of the assembly, rather than having to come out again later in the day.
