Sailing

Sailing has a rich history at Eden with a number of pupils having beeen included in crews that have gone on to win competitions - one of them being an international regatta involving both adults and seasoned sailors. So when the pupil's boat placed first, it was heralded as a fine win indeed. Siya Vato (Grade 11) gained his Skipper's License and, besides sailing in the Lipton Cup off of Cape Town, has skippered boats on many occasions with excellent results.

The indefatiguable Mrs Jackie Barnard heads up the club, fetching and carrying, organising and sponsoring and generally offering our pupils a chance at sailing the world. She works very closely with Sail Africa and the Commodores of the clubs to create these opportunities on an ongoing basis.
