About The Zone:

The Zone is an OFSTED registered out of school club and is part of the extended school provision at Whitehill Community Academy

We operate from two settings, the under eights are based in the children’s centre and the over eights at the new Zone building. This means activities and resources are age appropriate.

We provide a varied programme of activities, including a wide range of arts and crafts, sports and physical activities. There are computers, a WII, a football table and a pool table, as well as a cosy quiet area with TV and DVD.

Each of the settings has fantastic outdoor play provision, which is used whenever possible. We also have a gardening plot where the children grow their own vegetables which they pick, prepare and eat in The Zone.

The children are collected from school by our staff and brought to the Zone where they have the opportunity to choose the activities they would like to access.

The Zone holiday club is run from the new Zone building, as well as having the same resources and activities as the after school provision the holiday club is enhanced by trips and outings, e.g. ten pin bowling, roller blading, museums parks etc.

The qualified staff at the Zone work to provide quality after school and holiday care to the highest standard.

Our good relationships with other schools and outside agencies, enable us to work together and help our club extend and grow.

The staff at The Zone is a dedicated team of enthusiastic and caring playworkers with specific training in childcare. The team have worked together for a considerable period of time. 

All staff are C.R.B approved. Staff training is an ongoing process, First Aid, Health and safety, Food Hygiene, child protection and behaviour management are continually updated.
