Find out what we are up to in School

Chelsea Flower Show

Our peas were chosen to go to the Chelsea Flower Show as part of the RHS 100 year Anniversary Display Garden which was in the main pavilion. Mrs Trestrail, Mrs Card and her two children Joshua and Lucy, went to represent the school. The children were asked to speak with the visitors to the show and explain about the garden and how the plants were grown. We were really pleased as we were the only infant school that has been chosen to send plants. Well done to Mrs Trestrail and all the children who help out in the polytunnel.

School Choir

On Wednesday 15th May our school choir competed in the Wall Music Festival. They were all very excited about going and looked very smart. They sang beautifully and made us all very proud by achieving joint first with another school. The judge said that they sang interestingly, with fluency and variety, making the songs lots of fun. Overall the performance was delightful and enjoyed by all. We would all like to congratulate them on an outstanding performance! Well done!

Dr Who Topic Launch Day - 17th April 2013

We had an amazing topic launch day when all our classes met Dr Who and travelled in his tardis to the land of the dinosaurs. In true science fiction tradition we were heading for somewhere else when we crash landed. We met up wtih a dalek (or garlic as some of the children called it!) on route but Dr Who's trusty sonic screwdriver got us out of trouble! The staff had a lovely time transforming the hall into a prehistoric times, and the computer and staff room into the tardis with lots of cardboard and tinfoil. Some of us even got to dress up. And yes we know that cave men and dinosaurs weren't around at the same time but we took some artistic licence.

Spring Fayre - 28th March 2013

Well done to all parents, staff and pupils who helped in any way to organise our spring fayre and easter egg hunt. We raised a total of £868 which is absolutely amazing, especially as the weather was poor and we had to have all our stalls inside. Many people commented on the lovely friendly atmosphere and everyone really enjoyed the event.

Mothering Sunday Mothering Sunday Service

A Great big thank you to everyone who came along to Tuckingmill Church to support the children taking part in the service. The congregation were absolutely delighted with the children and we received an email from the church wardens on sunday afternoon saying that everyone was full of praise for the service and that 'your children are a credit to yourself, your staff and their parents'.

Recycle your office spares AND CDs

We are now able to collect CDs that we can recyle and rasie funds for our school.

Your office spares can be worth thousands of pounds to our school. Office materials that normally end up in the bin - toner and printer cartridges, and old mobile phones - can be recycled to raise valuable cash for us.  So if you are guilty of throwing away old inkjet cartridges and other recyclable office materials, read on!

We have signed up to the leading recycling programme Recycool, a scheme that will help boost school funds and divert products from landfill.  Every time you donate a cartridge or old mobile phone to us for the Recycool programme, the school will receive a cash donation.

So put your old mobile phones, inkjet and toner printer cartridges to one side. (Please note: Recycool does not accept Epson inkjet cartridges).

You will be helping the environment and helping our fundraising. What’s more, it won’t cost you a penny.  Please hand your recycled goods into the main office.  your help is very much appreciated.
