Warburtons Bread Workshop

Class 3 were busy learning about how bread is made when Warburtons Bakery visited today.

Gemma and Lorna from Warburtons Bakers talked with the class about healthy eating and the ingredients that go into making bread. Then the children washed their hands, donned their aprons and hair nets and set to work making their own sandwiches. There was a delicious array of food available for them to choose from. The children were encouraged to make their sandwiches as healthy as possible. The end products certainly looked mouthwatering! The children were able to take their sandwiches home to eat along with a fantastic goodie bag.

Class 3 have been working on a project with Mrs Tarplee where they have been organised into their 'Bakery' groups, designing and making their own bread. So far the creations have included cheese and tomato 'Pizza Bread', 'Chocolate Twirl' and 'Chocolate and Strawberry'. The class enjoyed sampling their bread and writing an evaluation.
