Tea at the Ritz - Royal Visit
On Wed 25th May we had the second of our Tea at the Ritz events. This was part of the year 6 work designed by Mrs Harding around some of our social enterprise activities. As part of the event we invited a number of guests, people who work with us in a range of ways, as well as the other year 6 class. Many thanks to Dame Janet Trotter who is a good friend of the school who wanted to spread some of the work we are doing and invited The Countess of Wessex as part of her visit to Gloucester. As you can see in the phots we had a terrific afternoon which was enjoyed by everyone. The event was made even more special by The exit of the Countess in a helicopter from the school field.
Below the photographs is a brief description written by Atiyah Ahmed in year 6, which was also published in the Citizen newspaper.
Robinswood Afternoon Tea at the Ritz.
As I walked to Robinswood on Wednesday 25th May I thought it would be a day I would never forget, year 6 were hosting Afternoon Tea at the Ritz. As soon as we arrived at school Mr. Latham informed us the Countess of Wessex would be joining us for Afternoon Tea along with many other important guests. I enjoyed it very much because I had the responsibility of being a waitress at the table the Countess of Wessex was at. On arrival she was escorted to her seat and greeted by Bob Allen (a school governor), Mr. Latham and four year 6 pupils. Having arrived, the table was now full so I was able to serve the guests their Afternoon Tea. Firstly, I asked what they would like to drink and sent the order to the kitchen. I felt nervous and worried in case I did anything wrong bur fortunately I didn’t. Then I served an assortment of sandwiches and cakes and waited for any requests. I really enjoyed the experience even though it was extremely hard work.
At the end of the afternoon the whole school waved goodbye to the Countess as she left by a helicopter, I knew it will be a day I will never forget!
