Year 1 area – Olive room 

The Friends of Davigdor is the equivalent of the parent teachers association for Davigdor Infants School but at Davigdor teaching staff play a less formal role than in a PTA.  We are parents/carers/relatives who organise extra events for the children to fund facilities and activities that the school could not otherwise provide. Some are fundraisers and some are just for fun.  

In 2011/2012 the Friends organised:

  • The Christmas Fair
  • Film Night
  • After-school Disco
  • Jubilee Party and commemorative mugs for each pupil
  • Easter Egg Hunt with prizes

 

As well as being great fun for the children these events raised money to fund:

 

  • Paying the salary for a teacher in our Gambian twin school
  • The Play Trail
  • The school gift from Santa for each child

 

Anyone with a child at Davigdor can be part of the Friends. It is a well organised, informal and friendly group of people which includes parents, carers, grandparents and other family members. Your involvement can range from the position of Chair to baking for a cake sale or occasionally helping out for an hour to set up or help run an event. Any time that you can give is appreciated and valuable. As an added bonus, the kids really enjoy seeing their families involved with the school.

Easter egg quiz 28th March at 3.15 in the playground. Complete the quiz and win an egg.

School Disco

After the success of the quiz and curry night we are organising a children’s event. School discos will take place in the spring term in Holland Road church hall... dates to be confirmed.

Summer fair

Meetings

We’ll be in Birch room (the small room which is part of the new mobile classroom) on the first Wednesday of every half term from 9 – 10, so come along for a free coffee and find out what we’re up to. It’s a nice way to meet other parents too.  We’ll be happy to tell you more about what we do and how you can be involved. New comers and new ideas are always welcome.
