Q1 – What does FOSSA stand for?

A1 – FOSSA stands for Friends of Old Sodbury School Association

Q2 – What is FOSSA?

A2 – FOSSA is a registered charity that provides assistance and financial support to Old Sodbury CE Primary School

Q3 – Who are the members of FOSSA?

A3 – Anybody who wants to help and provide assistance and financial support to the school can be members of FOSSA.   All parents of children at the school automatically become members of FOSSA

Q4 – What sort of financial support does FOSSA provide to the school?

A4 – FOSSA funds various activities throughout the school year such as the coaches to the Pantomime and Clifton Cathedral at Christmas time, children Christmas presents and various equipment requirements the school identify.   During the current school year FOSSA has purchased a sand pit and equipment for the play house.

Q5 – What other assistance does FOSSA provide?

A5 – FOSSA members regularly help out at other school events such as serving refreshments at the Bedtime story evening, organising the Easter Crafts workshop event and helping with the Chipping Sodbury carnival float.

Q6 – How does FOSSA generate an income?

A6 – FOSSA’s main incomes come from various fundraising events undertaken during the school year

Q7 – What are these fundraising events?

A7 – The main fundraiser each year is the Christmas Fayre although a number of other events are organised throughout the school year such as the Christmas breakfast, New Year disco and the annual Plant Sale.

Q8 – Is income generated any other way?

A8 – Yes, any form of fundraising is considered and includes the recycling of mobile phones via the Fones4schools initiative and supporting the Bags for Schools programme.

Q9 – Who organises the various FOSSA fundraising events?

A9 – The fundraising events are organised by the FOSSA committee
