Drama

All Pupils from Grade 0 - 6 have Drama as part of their curriculum. The emphasis is on confidence-building, good communication and fun. These children enter the Speech Festival run by the Speech and Drama Association of South Africa. All classes entered the choral verse section and all received A plus symbols. This has been the case since the birth of Eden! All the children are performing in a production called "Happily Ever After" in September. Each child has the opportunity to feel the thrill of being on the big stage with the bright lights on their faces and the joy of entertaining an audience.

Students in the Middle School are all exposed to Drama in Arts and Culture but have the choice of taking Drama as a specialist subject. These students do theory and a practical component. All the students are entered into the Speech Festival and perform in a Middle School Candlelight Theatre evening.

A touring show is produced every year and is made up of a cast of mixed ages from the Prep and the College. Shows have travelled to the National Arts Festivals in Grahamstown and Edinburgh, London and also to Cape Town. These tours afford students a unique experience which incorporates travel and performance.
