Welcome to Roecroft School Parliament.  We are a very important part of the school because we are the children’s voice.

Parliament Secretary

Hi my name is Nadia and I am the School Parliamnet's secretary.  I am the person who writes down the ideas and discussions that we have in our meetings.  These are called minutes.  I am honoured to be in the School Parliament and grateful to all the people who voted for me.  Together with the rest of the School Parliament, we look forward to sharing our ideas with all the pupils at Roecroft.                                   

      

         

Healthy Schools

Hello my name is Katie and my job is healthy schools and that means I have to keep the school healthy.  Also that means I have to think of ideas to make the school healthier.  I also need to look after the vegetable garden.  And sometimes I get to organise gardening days.    

 

                                

                                        

Project Manager

Hi I'm Michael.  I am Project Manager for the school parliament.  I write letters and help the parliament with discussions.  I am doing, and love finding ideas for the parliament to use and there are lots of things we have to think of, mainly raising money to help make Roecroft an even better place.

        

   Chair

Hi my name is Conor and I am the Chair of our School Parliament.  My job is to keep the committee on track by leading the meetings.  I am passionate about making the school a better place for everyone.

 

 

Vice Chair

Hello my name is Miranda and I am the vice chair in the school parliament team.  My job is to coordinate with the chair and take his place when his isn't there.

Project Manager

Hi I'm Lavigne.  My place in school parliament is project manager.  My job is to do posters and pictures and post them around the school.

Treasurer

 Hi I'm Lucy and I'm the Treasurer of the school parliament team.  As the Treasurer I have to take care of the money!  And I'm in charge of the fundraising and the school bank.  I am also in charge of buying things that we need.

Healthy Schools

Hello my name is Lois and my job is healthy schools, which means I have to keep our school healthy and make sure that we all eat healthy.  My job is also to look after the school garden.  Healthy Schools is lots of fun because we get to be outside a lot of the time.  I love my job. 



We meet once a fortnight with our link teachers Miss Wood and Mrs Weeks.

The school parliament was voted for by the whole school following an assembly where we made a speech about why we would be a good member of parliament. We are excited about the opportunity to go to visit the Houses of Parliament.

Our school friends tell us what they like about school and what they would like to change.  They put their ideas in suggestion boxes in the library and outside the Phoenix room.

The school parliament notice board displays information about what we have been doing and our minutes are shared in a whole school assembly once a month.

 

Our agenda for this term includes:

 

  • Helping to coordinate ‘love in a box’
  • Planning our ‘environmental area’
  • Producing a promotional video for Roecroft Lower School
  • Fundraising for children in need (Cake Stall)
  • Holding a stall at the Christmas Market at Etonbury
