Welcome to the Falcon Class home page. I am the teacher, Mr Cowie. We are also supported in the classroom by Mrs Hamit.
This term our topic is ‘An Italian Adventure’ and we are enjoying learning about the Celts, the Romans and what it is like to live in modern day Italy. We recently had a visit from ‘Vulpus’, a Roman soldier during our KS2 Roman Day. Vulpus told us all about life as a Roman soldier and we all really enjoyed the story of Boudicca. We tried on some armour and held some weapons of the time.
We have phonics every morning and we have our spelling tests each Friday. We are set our homework ‘learning logs’ each Friday too, and we hand them in again the following Thursday. We review them as a class each Friday so we can celebrate each other’s homework together.
Our PE days are Tuesdays and Thursdays but it is a good idea to have your PE kit in school every day as we sometimes have visits from coaches and sportspeople and we need our kits.
One of our most enjoyable lessons is French. We learn by repetition and through song, and we have already learnt the numbers 1-10 and some basic colours. We can already ask each other our names and how we are feeling.
