Glenfrome gardens
The gorgeous gardens of Glenfrome consist of; 7 raised beds laid out in a sunflower design, the spring flower beds in front of the KS1 classrooms, our established pond habitat which will soon be renovated by Colston’s 6th form Rugby Team, our brand new outdoor classroom, the all weather poly tunnel currently bursting with delicious cherry tomatoes, Cherry and Willow’s own gardening corner as well as countless other little brilliant nooks and crannies full of wildlife and potential! Can you spot the pumpkins turning orange?
We have had so much fun planting, digging and cooking potatoes, picking runner beans, broad beans and sweetcorn, protecting the strawberries from being nibbled by the birds, feasting on plump raspberries on our way home from school and being completely overawed by how stunning poppies are! We even sold potatoes and other garden produce after school to raise money for the East Africa Famine Appeal and raised £28!
The lovely Learning Communities people gave us Katie in Spring who got us all painting the wooden ladybirds and bees you can see on the posts in the garden as well as giving us materials to repair the raised beds and got us out in the sunshine. The children will be out and about in the garden over the year and parents we’d love you to get involved with the best school garden in Bristol too. Everyone is welcome to join in and grow together!
If you'd like to get involved, contact the school office for more info.
