Headteacher's Welcome

My name is Julian Gorton and I am the headteacher of Shakespeare Primary School.

On behalf of the staff and governors at Shakespeare Primary School, I would like to extend a warm welcome to you.

Shakespeare Primary School is a special place where the staff are dedicated to providing the best for all children. By providing a well structured and engaging curriculum, and by promoting good behaviour through our Golden Rules, we aim to enthuse in all children a love of learning as well as respect and care for each other.

We value highly the partnership between home and school and encourage all parents to take an active part in the education of their children.

Whatever the needs of your child and whatever special interests they have, we aim to ensure your child thrives at Shakespeare feeling safe, having fun and enjoying success.

Our Facilities

The school is a landmark building within the community providing state of the art facilities for learning. From the care provision available to 2 year olds through to 11 year olds preparing for transition to High School, the school provides an excellent environment.

The Children's Centre is an innovative new setting where teaching staff, teachers of the deaf, support staff and early years staff work in partnership with families to provide the very best for our young learners. Each age group within the Centre has its own inside and outside learning space especially equipped to support their physical, social and intellectual development.

The older children enjoy bright airy classrooms, each equipped with interactive whiteboards and computers. The school hall provides a large indoor space for P.E. lessons and has it own lighting and sound systems for school shows and assemblies. Our computer suite allows classes of children to work independently on their own computer. The playground is a completely secure area that provides shelter, seating, grassed areas and trails for the children to follow.

All this is complemented by the specialist facilities available in the High School.
