Charity Events

Throughout the year school, staff, parents and pupils involve themselves in many fundraising events for local and national charities. On this page we will keep you up to date on any fundraising events that you may wish to support. If you are involved in an event and you are a member of staff, pupil or parent/guardian let us know and we can arrange to raise awareness of your event on this page.

Women v Cancer Cycle Challenge - Kenya

Two of our parents - Caroline Taylor and Maria Male are getting on their bikes and taking positive action in the fight against breast, ovarian and cervical cancers. They are joining a women only team of cyclists riding through Kenya to support the work of 3 charities:Breast Cancer Care, Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action. They are aiming to raise £5600 to give to the charities and to raise awareness of these terrible diseases. They are contributing personally to the expenses of the trip and are hoping to find sponsors for the kilometres they cycle.

We will be having a dress up day (with a Christmas twist) in aid of this charity in school on the 9th December.

Some of you may have noticed that Mr Crossley's moustache has disappeared for the first time in 36 years! He has removed it to support the Movember charity. This charity's aim is to raise awareness of testicular and prostate cancer. Mr Crossley has the month of November to regrow his moustache.  Follow this link if you wish to support this very worthwhile charity and check on the progress of his moustache.

Link Romania Shoebox Appeal

We have been supporting this charity for a number of years. The deadline for shoe box collection has now passed but if you can deliver them to Link Romania's warehouse in Worthing you have until the 28th November to send a shoebox.

Since 1991, Link Romania has been working to make a difference in the lives of poor and needy people in Romania and other Eastern European countries. Although the needs of the people no longer make headlines in the West, they are still as pressing as ever.
