Baildon in Bloom

Baildon In Bloom has three broad aims:

  • To improve and promote the value of Baildon's environment, landscape and heritage;
  • To encourage local people to play an active part in doing this and
  • To enter the annual Yorkshire In Bloom competition.
  • In addition, Baildon In Bloom ascribes to the three core pillars
  • promoted jointly by Yorkshire In Bloom and Britain In Bloom:
  • Horticultural Achievement
  • Environmental Responsibility
  • Community Participation

Baildon in Bloom is an organisation, with whom we as a school have worked very closely with. When Baildon was aiming for the award of Best Village, our school grounds and gardens were on the judging route, and as such played a part in the award that Baildon received. Our school 'Garden Gang' have also helped to plant spring bulbs with the Baildon in Bloom team on common areas of land, and also planted up some hanging baskets with a member of the Baildon in Bloom committee.

The committee can be contacted at bloom@baildon.org.uk
