Pupil Premium
For school year 2011-12 our pupil premium was used for :
Cooking lessons to promote healthy lifestyles and budgeting. This activity was chosen to promote and support the skills needed for social and emotional growth within the pupil. Behaviour data collected by the school indicated an improvement in learning attitude.
The pupil premium for the school year 2012-13 will have extra funding so that all pupils will benefit.
The pupil premium is allocated to children from low income families who are currently eligible for Free School Meals (FSM). The amount allocated £16200
The school may spend the money as we see fit, but we are accountable. As this is a very small school and all our children benefit from extra support the school places in extra funding so that all pupils benefit

Involve the pupils in the creation and maintenance of such an area they learn to respect the hard work and skill necessary to produce and maintain an attractive environment. It gives them a sense of pride and achievement – and hopefully will encourage them to develop a life-long respect for the environment in general.

What are the key Features of our project? At whom is it targeted What do we aim to deliver? |
We are creating a wildlife/outdoor classroom as it has been shown that design and management of school grounds influence children’s attitudes and behaviour. It is shown to have beneficial changes in the relationships, attitudes and the atmosphere of a school. There will be opportunities to develop curriculum subjects outside the confines of 4 walls. This is targeted at all the pupils and this addition to the school environment will enhance the experiences of the pupils and encourage a respect of the world around them.

Update
The Learning Resources Centre/the Castle is now under development. The staff and pupils have worked together to provide an exciting environment in which to access learning materials, including: books/kindles and imaginative play equipment (lego/dressing up clothes etc). We are aiming for an opening date of March 2013.
Friday Clubs - these have been a great success in motivating positive behaviour from the pupils. The choice of club is made on a Monday and each day points are accumulated. This has had a beneficial impact on behaviour in non structured times such as: break times, lunch and moving around the school. The clubs last for about 75 minutes and include: cooking, pet care, gardening, creative crafts and team games.
