Term 3

We have been finding out all about Florence Nightingale, investigating her early life and the reasons she decided to become a nurse. We discovered that the conditions at the hospital she worked in in the Crimea were terrible when she arrived but, with the help of her team of nurses, she cleaned the hospital and took care of the soldiers.

Terms 1 and 2

Our topic to start the year was The Great Fire of London. The children really enjoyed finding out about the how the fire started and why it spread so quickly. We have imagined what it would have been like to be alive at the time of The Great Fire and wrote diaries as if we were Samuel Pepys. The children also produced some fantastic artwork to make our display below.
