Coppetts Wood Primary School is a friendly, caring, one form entry school with a Nursery Class. The school is situated in large grounds south of the North Circular near the Barnet/Haringey Boarder. It is spacious and bright with well resourced accommodation. We have an enclosed garden area, a large field with an adventure play area, and the playground is adjacent to a park. We aim to provide a rich, varied, stimulating educational experience for all our children.
We work closely as a team to support each other, to share ideas and skills, and to involve parents in our educational partnership. We share the vision of providing the warmest of inclusive environments
for the children to be nurtured, both as people and learners. With our positive approach to learning,we aim to inspire individual self-confidence and to raise self-esteem and to develop children’s lifelong love of learning.
Our Children's Centre opened in March 2008 - this provides a huge range of free services and support to the community. So it is an exciting time!
We provide education for up to 236 children aged 3-11. Our pupils are well behaved and well supported by our team of skilled and dedicated Teachers and Teaching Assistants, Nursery Nurses, Learning Mentors, a SENCo, and a Gifted and Talented Leader. Our school also has a specialist 18 place Primary Language Resource Provision situated on the site for children with specific Speech and Language Needs. The children from the Resource Provision integrate into the mainstream classes with support and play a full part in the life of the school.
Being a small school, our relationships with the children and parents are strong and built on solid foundations right from the point of entry, whether the children start off in Nursery or join us later in their school careers.
We are committed to continually raise standards of learning and teaching in an atmosphere of mutual respect. This has been recognised by two achievement awards. We are actively engaged in improving the whole school provision and have clear goals for developing the curriculum and learning environment to build on proven success.
Visits to the school are welcomed and encouraged. Only this way will you get to know if this is the school for you and your child/children! The Deputy Head and I are always pleased to talk about any particular queries you may have and you are welcome to arrange an appointment through Karen Bennett, the school Office Manager.
