Year 3 is a very busy year! In Literacy we cover a range of genres, including stories with familiar texts, poetry, instructions, adventure and myths and legends.
In numeracy, we develop our skills using the 4 operations. We develop a good working knowledge of times tables. We further our understanding of data handling and measurements.
In IPC we learn about the Victorians, Africa and ancient Egypt.
Our RE curriculem covers Beginnings, Places of Worship and Journeys.
The Science curriculem involves learning about magnets and springs, solids and liquids, moving and growing, rocks and solids, characteristics of materials and plants,
We also learn French and have lessons where we think a lot about our personal, social and emotional development.
Regular homework is set in order to practice what has been taught in class. We are expected to read for 10 minutes each evening, learn spellings on a weekly basis and consolidate our number work. Homework provides a vital link to enable parents to share in childrens learning and provides opportunities for discussion.
