 "What's on Guide for Spring Bank Holidays" What's on for Children, Young People & Families in Meanwood, Chapel Allerton, Chapeltown & Harehills at Spring Bank Holiday 2013.  NOTE: Monster Arts event on 28 May at Hovingham Cabin has been cancelled. See the guide for details.
 ** Holy Rosary's Got Talent ** The PTA have organised a Holy Rosary's Got Talent competition and they are looking for children and adults from our school to compete, either on your own or with your friends.  See the entry form for more details. Click here for the entry form.

Walk to School Week (20th-24th May) Competition Our Junior Road Safety Officers, Jharnay & Shonagh, have organised a competition for you to write a song, rap, poem or rhyme about why it is good to walk to school.  See the poster for details. See the poster for the deadline and result dates.
Knitting Club for Years 5 & 6 Tuesdays at 3-4pm from 23rd April for 5 weeks.  Like to learn to knit?  Everything provided to start. Click here for the Invitation Letter.
"Book Fair Garden"  In the School, 3-4pm Monday 22nd April  to Thursday 25th April.  Hundreds of books to choose from - for ages 2 to 12.  Free books for our school when you buy books. Click here for more information on the books available.
Years 4 & 5 Family Learning and Games Library Thursdays at 3.10 - 4pm in school, starting Thursday 18 April for 6 weeks.  A chance to have fun as a family playing new and traditional games and learning together. See the poster.

Choir at the Rothwell Competitive Music Festival The Cathedral Choir were awarded first place in the Choir Class (11 and under) at the Rothwell Festival on 22nd March.  The children were delighted to bring the Rodillian Shield back to school with them.  See the photo and video on the Choir School Information page.
PTA Annual General Meeting Wednesday 20 March at 6.30pm in the school hall.  Open to Parents, Carers and Staff.  Refreshments will be available. See the invite letter for more details
Keeping up with the Children Thursdays 1-3pm from 7 February to 21 March.  Looking at how literacy and numeracy are taught in school and how you can help to support your children's learning.  The sessions will involve practical fun activities for you to try and ideas for things you can do at home with your children.   See the invite letterClick here to see some of the comments from the Participants on this course.

Key Stage 2, Valentine's Day Disco Thursday, 14 February See the invite letter  and the photos.
Shrove Tuesday - Pancake Day ! Key Stage 1 children had pancakes during the day and all the children had the opportunity to take part in pancake races after school.  See the photos.
Internet Safety Session for KS2 Parents Wednesday 6th February,  topics: Cyber Bullying; Messaging Services and Online Games See the invite letter that went to all KS2 parents/carers.
Reading Workshops We believe we have a joint role with you and your children to achieve our 'Every Child a Reader' goal.  So we held Reading Workshops for parents and carers on Thursday 24th January.  See the poster and the photos
Snow Day 21 January 2013 The arrival of the first snow of our winter meant that whilst attendance suffered a little, others came in and took advantage of the snow-filled playgrounds.  See the photos.

Year 2 Family Learning and Games Library Thursdays at 3.10 - 4pm in school, starting Thursday 10 January for 6 weeks.  See the poster and the photos.
Choir singing at Leeds Cathedral at Midnight Mass, live on BBC1 The Mass is live on BBC1 at 11.45pm on December 24th.  The children sang "Unto us is born a son" (from Piae Cantiones 1582) for treble voices, harp and bells at the Blessing of the Crib.  See the poster
Thursday Coffee Mornings From Thursday 29 November until the end of term - drop in for a coffee and a chat and a chance to meet other parents - 9 to 10am See the poster
Year 6 Family Learning and Games Library Thursdays at 3.10 - 4pm in school, starting Thursday 8 November for 8 weeks See the poster
"What can a Parent do?" ... a course for parents and carers. Thursday 8 November 9.15am at the Holy Rosary Church.  This has now been postponed until after December. See the poster for more details
 Book Fair October 15-17th We sold books worth £337.25 and the school has been allocated commission of £84.31 towards buying new books for our library.
Internet Safety Session for KS2 Parents Wednesday 24 October in school Areas covered included: Use of Parental Controls; Browser History; and Making you child aware.  The handout for this, and the previous session, can be found on the Parents page.
 PTA Family Mexican Night Thursday 18 October in school

 The PTA Family Mexican Night was a great success.   It was a sell out, with everyone who came playing "Mexican Bingo", eating tasty Mexican food and joining in a Salsa dance routine.  Thank you to everyone who made the evening a success.  You can see the photos here.
