Rangeworthy vs Our Lady of Lourdes

Our Lady of Lourdes 5-1 Rangeworthy

Match Report written by William Romain

It was a full on game at the start, good shots from Tom Culliford  and Toby Kinnerly almost put Rangeworthy ahead. But Our Lady of Lourdes started to pressure with several chances, it soon paid off. A great piece of skill and lovely finish from their center forward put them one up. But Rangeworthy kept their heads up, Phoebe Phelps with some great strength won a free kick for her team. Great tackles from Josh Fluck and Morgan Riordan stopped them from making it two. After some good saves from Will Romain the keeper, Our Lady of Lourdes eventually got another. Rangeworthy won a free kick on behalf of Toby Kinnerly, Tom Culiford whipped it in, with no touches it went agonizingly inches wide. But caught on the break Our Lady of Lourdes made it 3-0.

After some half time oranges and Jaffa cakes, Rangeworthy started the second half extremely well. Ellie Helps and Poppy Wolnough set up some great chances, but the opposition keeper made some fantastic saves to prevent a Rangeworthy goal. Will Romain made a great double save but soon after Our Lady of Lourdes made it 4-0.Jordan Drew made some great runs but still Rangeworthy couldn’t get a goal, the subbed girls gave some great support. The girl powers continued as all the girls were playing their first game and were amazing. Jordan Drew and Tom Culliford fed Toby Kinnerly through on goal but they remained solid. After a goal mouth scramble at the other end they made it 5-0 with another great goal. Morgan Riordan and Josh Fluck did some great work to save a goal at the expense of a corner. After a double save from Will Romain, Rangeworthy had a break some great work and an amazing cross from Tom Culliford, Toby Kinnerly finished with a lovely tap in. The goal might have been a consolation but all of the Rangeworthy team were delighted.
