BBC School Report About Cariad Kenya
Cariad Kenya is a charity that was founded in 2001 by Geraint Stephens, Margaret Stephens and Anthony Mulongo.
The charity provides food, shelter, medicine, education and justice for young girls in kikambala which is a village near Mombassa. They own 2.5 acres of land, half of it is for farming and half of it is for accommodation.
Money that has been raised through school fundraises has helped to buy them a cow which gives them some milk each day and a chicken which gives them one egg a week. They also have access to clean water.
They do not only help girls, people come from miles around to use the taps to get water. They are hoping to build another home that will give 60 girls the basic things we take for granted such as a bed, food, water and shelter but to do this they will need financial support from people like us.
