Our team consists of

We are committed to helping and supporting the students while in school. We cater for all the students' medical needs while in school and adminster any prescribed medication during the school day with written parental/carer consent. We provide a link between home, school, GPs and many other co-professionals including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, visually impaired support, dieticians, consultants and continence service.
The needs of those we care for are top of our agenda. Communication is important and therefore we work closely with students, families and carers in making decisions.
Occupational Therapy
The Children's Occupational Therapy Service is part of a therapy team based at Princess Royal Community Health Centre. We are employed by the NHS and work in the school with children with physical difficulties who have been referred to us and their families.
We work closely with school staff and other professionals to provide multidisciplinary assessments. We advise the school staff on how to optimise the child's functional ability and recommend equipment and adaptations to enable access to learning and to progress physical development and independence.
Speech and Language Therapy
The Children's Speech and LanguageTherapy Service is part of a therapy team based at Princess Royal Community Health Centre. We work with children with speech, language and communication difficulties and their families.
Following assessment there is joint planning with staff, parents and carers offering guidance on useful strategies to enable children to develop their communication skills. This may be through verbal language, signing, symbols, communication aids. We also work with children who have difficulties with feeding and drinking which are related to oral motor skills.
Physiotherapy
The Children's Physiotherapy Service is part of a therapy team based at Princess Royal Community Health Centre. We are employed by the NHS and work in school with children and their families who have been referred to us.
Following assessment we advise staff and parents on managing the postural needs of children.
