School Council ICT Sub-committee

This group of pupils has a specific job to look into all aspects of ICT in school. One of their main jobs is to create a "Fun Stuff" section on the website, featuring websites suggested by you! They will also have a say in what our ICT curriculum in school could include and they will have some input on the purchasing of new ICT equipment.

Making the playground better

Abbey Hey primary school have decided to make the playground better. We did a survey which showed lots of children think the playground is boring, unless you like football!. Since the survey we have got some new play equipment such as hula hoops, targets etc and people like these.

We are thinking of putting some tyres on the grassy area ,we are going to paint them different colours like yellow, green and blue.Hopefully this will make childrensplaytimes a better time.

How will we do this?

we (school councillors) are writing a persuasive letter to Miss Moorhouse asking her if we can get the tyres fitted on the grassy area in the school playground.

We don't know if we are going to get the tyres yet but hopefully Miss Moorhouse will be persuaded by our letters!!

STOP PRESS!!!!

She was - tyres hopefully installed before too long!

This is still going ahead but we have had the wettest November on record, followed by the coldest winter for 30 years! As soon as the weather settles down and warms up we can organise it!

This is still ongoing but we are now looking at rewards around the school.

VIP Tables for Stars of the Week!!!

The school council wanted a treat for well-behaved children at lunchtime so they had the idea of a special table for them to eat their lunch at. The VIP table has juice, biscuits and music. The VIPs are allowed to choose a friend and they have to wear a special VIP pass.

What do school councillors do?

The school councillors make sure that every one is happy and everything is going to be to their satisfaction.

We also make sure that everyone gets what they need EG~healthy food sports and even dance and only recently Abbey Hey Primary received the gold award for healthy schools!!
