1. Stop Idling!

Leaving your car running whilst waiting for your children at the end of the school day wastes petrol - idling for more than 10 seconds takes more petrol than starting the engine.

2. Turn off your computer.

Turning off your computer each night could save you up to £50 per year!  Energy Efficiency Agencies recommend that you turn off your monitor if you are not going to use it for 20 minutes and turning off your whole system if you are going to be away for more than 2 hours.

3. Turn down your thermostat.

Turning down your thermostat by just one degree can save you up to 3% on your annual heating bill.

4. Use a cooler wash.

90% of the energy used by a washing machine is in heating the water - turn to a 30 degree wash and you will save money with every load.

5. Pay your bills online.

Most companies now have the facility for you to pay your bills online.  Paperless billing not only saves trees but also eliminates the fossil fuels neded to get those bills from them to you and back again.
