School Jotter of the Week: Osmotherley Primary School

Published: November 22, 2013

Located in the idyllic village of Osmotherley in North Yorkshire, Osmotherley Primary School is surrounded by beautiful countryside, which is mirrored by their School Jotter website.

One of my favourite features of the website is the ‘What’s On’ box, that is situated on every page. This provides details of activities and clubs that the children can take part in. This is fantastic for parents, allowing them to quickly and easily find out the days and times events take place – all at the click of a button – and there’s no need to trawl the site looking.

Another great addition to the site is the history of the school. For those schools built hundreds of years ago, this idea is a quaint addition to the site and doubles up as a mini history lesson.

The ‘Milk’ and ‘Fruit and Veg’ pages are also an extremely useful part of the website, providing information to parents about the schemes put in place to make their child healthy. Not only that, but visitors or other schools looking at the site can see how Osmotherley try to keep their pupils wholesome.

The ‘Forest Schools’ page is delightful to see, with a moving photo gallery showing children interacting with nature. Being located so close to the countryside, it just shows how lucky these pupils are to utilise and get hands on with the natural resources available.
