Website Of The Week: Birstwith CoE Primary School

Published: June 28, 2013

Although not quite finished yet, Birstwith C of E Primary School have made a brilliant start to their School Jotter 2 website. Using a bespoke design has given the school’s website a stylish, local feel: As you can see from the homepage header, this can only be a school in Yorkshire!

The Harrogate school have created a warm, welcoming homepage by including a welcome letter from the Headteacher. The menu is clear and simple enabling site visitors to find what they are looking for. The menu includes a page for each class, filled with images and videos of activities that have taken place throughout the year. A useful School Jotter tool used on their homepage is the scrolling marquee text to inform site visitors of important information – this is a popular feature for many schools and is easily updatable with new messages by even the least tech-savvy teacher.

With a page dedicated to the school’s newsletters, parents can be kept up to date with the latest news and events. Plus, with the School Updates app option, School Jotter 2 can send newsletters directly to parents’ smartphones. Once a newsletter is added to the website, School Jotter will automatically send a notification to every parent who has downloaded the app.

Website Of The Week: Enniskillen Integrated Primary School

Published: June 21, 2013

Enniskillen Integrated Primary School have just upgraded their school website to School Jotter 2 – and they are clearly making full use of it already!

The brightly-coloured, beautifully-created homepage draws you in immediately. However, it’s the content that really brings this school website to life. Go into the News section, and you will see pictures of a recent visit from not just David Cameron – but Barack Obama too! The Prime Minister and the US President recently visited the school, and Enniskillen have used their website to show everyone what happened.

The News section also includes a fantastic video created by the school’s pupils. It features the entire school singing along to We’re All In This Together from the High School Musical soundtrack, all captured in one single shot as the camera travels around the school. It’s certainly the most innovative way to capture the fun of your school that we’ve ever seen!
Enniskillen Integrated Primary School’s website is one of our favourite examples of School Jotter 2 – and your school could have a website just like this! Just fill in the form here to request your free School Jotter 2 demo.

Fairfield Endowed Church of England Junior School’s website homepage is bright, energetic, fun and lively. The bespoke theme option available with School Jotter 2 has given this Derbyshire based school the opportunity to create a header and footer style theme for their school website that is personal to them. In fact, it’s quite unlike any of the school websites we’ve worked on so far!

The menu is clear and simple, making it easy for visitors to find exactly what they are looking for. One of the school’s aims is for children to ‘be active and healthy’ – this message is backed up by the photos used on their homepage.

Fairfield Junior School’s website is still new, but we look forward to seeing how it develops as they add more content over the coming months!
