Website of the Week: Abercerdin Primary School

Published: October 11, 2013

Abercerdin Primary School’s new website is both professional and eye catching. Using the key colours from their school uniform and emblem, their website cleverly encompasses the school’s branding.

Their headteachers details can be found in the header of their website – meaning no matter which page you visit you will be able to find these details, making it easy for parents or visitors to get in touch.

The Office section provides a wealth of information, from school dinner menus and newsletters to policies & procedures. This section gives visitors to the site all the information they need to know, so they can feel prepared if their child attends the school.

Abercerdin Primary School’s Learnanywhere VLE is an integral part of their website, with a click through button on the homepage. This makes it easy for teacher, parent and student to access learning materials, results and completed work.

The surveys section allows parents and pupils to provide feedback on the school, its teachers, lessons and subjects. Some examples of questions include: What is your favourite lesson? and Who is your favorite teacher? Not only does this promote a feeling of community, it also provides the school with a fantastic insight into what the parents are children think. The results of previous surveys are also provided so that visitors to the site can see what they have scored before.

Finally another great feature is the school placing their awards and accreditations on the footer of their website. This allows visitors to easily see what they’ve achieved or what organisations they belong to.
