School Jotter of the Week: Stirchley Community Primary School

Published: November 29, 2013

This modern, easy to navigate School Jotter website is kept right up to date with all the latest from Stirchley Community Primary School. This site is packed full of information and pictures showing visitors to the site what the children are getting up to.

The ‘Lunchtime, Dance and PE Coaches’ page demonstrates what extra activities the school puts on during the children’s lunch break. This provides a chance for children to keep fit and partake in physical activities, interacting with other students where they may have not otherwise done.

Stirchley also offer an extensive range of after school activities, which can be found on the ‘After School Clubs’ page. From this page you can click on the links and are taken to an individual page displaying an explanation of what the children do and pictures. Activities range from the ‘Animation Club’ and ‘Creative Club’ to the ‘Book Club’ and ‘Cooking Club’.

Underneath the ‘Parents’ section, along with link to ‘Parent Courses’ and ‘Curriculum Levels’ there’s a link to ‘Reading Tips’. This page provides ten top reading tips for parents in order to help them get their children reading at home.

The ‘Class Blogs’ section provide a fantastic insight for parents to see what their child’s class has been up to. These blogs are written by the class teacher, and sum up what each class has done that term, or what opportunities there may have been – for example, students applying for the job of House Captain role.

Finally, the ‘School Allotment’ page shows different year groups making a trip down to the allotment. It illustrates new skills that the children gain, from digging and weeding to planting and picking vegetables.
